Ride the Larkin Trail on Horseback

In 1943, Dr. Charles L. Larkin gifted a portion of the abandoned railroad bed of the New York and New England Railroad as a linear park to the state of Connecticut for a bridle trail.  The foliage along this 10 mile trail has become very beautiful and provides the ideal setting for horseback riding, bicycling or walking.  (No motorized vehicles are allowed.)

Working with Sabill's Morgan Horse Farm, Cornucopia at Oldfield Bed and Breakfast can reserve horses and  trail guides for your party.  These can be arranged for 1 to 6 hours and are available all year long.   Riding helmets are provided and are required.  Sabill's is located approximately 3 miles from Cornucopia at Oldfield.  The rate is $45 per hour per rider.

Sabill's Morgan Horse Farm will also provide lessons for children or rider's who want to brush up on their skills before taking to the trail.
