We came here to celebrate my 29th birthday and had an amazing visit! The home is beautiful and the town is charming. Thank you for making our stay as warm and welcoming as could be.
Jolette and Johnny, June 2012
We are here to celebrate Father’s Day weekend. The inn is superb. The house has a fascinating history and is set on a beautiful property. We loved the Gables for our family and young daughter. The bed was comfortable with luxurious sheets. Our hosts were kind, welcoming and informative about the local interests. We look forward to returning soon.
Krystn, June 2012
What a wonderful place you have here. I wish we were staying longer (maybe next time). Do not change a thing as this is by far in my top 5 B & B’s. Thank+ you very much.
Charles
Love ambiance – enjoyed our stay very much. Cozy room with very comfortable bed. Great food, especially the fresh fruit and home backed scones! Thank you.
(couldn’t read name) New York, May 2012
Thank you for making our Mother’s Day excursion so special. One of the best B & B experiences we have had – you made us feel right at home.
Lori and Lynda, Massachusetts
As newcomers to Woodbury it was such a delight to discover your wonderful home and learn so much about local history, life and attractions. We look forward to being near neighbors! Thank you for a delightful stay!
Caroline and Anne, Woodbury Connecticut
What a wonderful find! Beautiful room, beautiful setting, wonderful hosts. We were in the area for an AMC hike in Kent and needed a bed and breakfast for the night. This was absolutely perfect!
Mary and Art, Hamden CT
We knew from the moment we discovered your website that it was a good fit for our fore-some because of your name, “Cornucopia”. The entire experience here – good food; friendly, interesting innkeepers; beautiful ambiance; surprisingly varied discoveries nearby – was serendipity! Thank you so much!
Joyce, Nancy, Mary, and Dee, March 2012
Love, love, love your place! You two are so welcoming and the care and pride you have in your B & B/ home comes through in everything.
Sarah, Coupeville Washington
Thank you for a wonderful stay – a comfortable and cozy room, warm hospitality and delicious food. What a wonderful way to spend our wedding anniversary. The husband will get lots of points for this surprise (you two definitely get partial credit, too)! We hope you much success and happiness as you continue to welcome people into your lovely home.
Mawk and July, January 2012
Thank you very much for the beautiful stay, the excellent breakfast (pumpkin waffles) and the cozy room. I will definitely come back again!
Irene, Italy, November 2011
I was feeling a little “down” after leaving our son in Manhattan. We arrived here and were welcomed by Christine and taken to our delightful, comfortable room, where we slept like logs in soft sheets. We have had a beautiful weekend and explored the area, so beautiful. We very much enjoyed talking to both Christine and Ed who are wonderful hosts. The atmosphere is calm and peaceful. Breakfasts have been delicious. I loved looking at the photo albums. Thank you both for a short but sweet stay.
Joaquin and Sheile, San Autonio Texas, October 2011
We have really enjoyed our stay with you. Arriving jet lagged and travel weary we received a lovely welcome and felt at home immediately. The accommodation is beautiful and historic and the beds are very comfy. The boys loved the hammock (not sure the hammock loved them) and running off excess energy in the back garden and pool. Fab – all we needed and more.
Frankie, Jason, Natty, Ethan, and Will, Brighouse, West Yorkshire UK August 2011
Thank you so much for the wonderful hospitality! From the amazing breakfasts, to the thoughtful conversations we enjoyed every minute of our stay at Cornucopia. We’ll be back, but until then be well and best of luck for the rest of the season.
Ian and Kimberly August 2011
We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay at your beautiful Cornucopia – the house is both historic and welcoming and so comfortable. We felt we were staying with friends – as we rushed about to organize and hang an exhibition of my paintings at the Roxbury Library. Ed jumped in when we needed a hand and Christine was incredibly supportive. And the breakfasts – home backed scones, blueberry pancakes and heaps of fruit – this was a very special stay for us. Thank you!
Risa and Doug, NYC August 2011
Thank you so much for your gracious hospitality. Staying in your lovely home felt like being with family in all the best sense of that experience. I will definitely be back and recommend more of our Taft family stay with you as well..

Tom and I had a most stimulating and gratifying stay at your inn. It was so much fun getting to know you and the fascinating little town. Of course, the breakfast was great and our bed was heavenly. You pay attention to to every detail in your inn, which means a lot to us (well, me especially).
Christine and Tom,New Britain, CT April 2010

Kluas and Patricia, Boson, April 2010
It's not just becaue the accommodations are wonderful (because they are)...
It's not just because the food is fabulous(because it is)...
It's not just because of your recommendations for dining/shopping/points of interest (which always seems to be the best)...
It's the feeling that you are just having a glass of wine with some old friends you haven't seen in a while (because you are). Love,
Claudia and Lou, 1/10/10 (3rd time they have been at the Cornucopia at Oldfield)
Thank you for sharing your most gracious home with us, we felt a part of your family and the warmth of your kindness will always be a special part of our memories here in Southbury. I'm glad our first B&B experience was here.

As a professional traveler, its quite nice to stray from the sterile, boxed environment of the chain hotels. This B&B satisfied all the comfort, calm and relaxing needs fo the weary. The food is superb, the host Christine is precious and the SHEETS - dreamy. I will return.

An original poem from one of our guests - John,
Verneuil-en-Bourbonnais, France January 2008
What is man and what is power?
All things pass away
The flutes are sprung, the harps unstrung
The songs of old are long unsung,
They had their day.
What are glory and loveliness?
All things pass away
The shattered lute falls to the floor,
The star of love is no more.
They had their day.
Now the jade terraces are still.
The Autumn mists are drifting chill.
Cold and casual the moonlight falls
Into the long-deserted halls.
Those that loved and reveled must
Long ago have fallen to dust.
And
here is what his wife, Terry had to say: The taste, the
warmth, the creativity - and I'm not just
talking about the food but also the house and
especially the hosts. Thank you for all of the
above.
This has been a fabulous three days! The great
accommodations are surpassed only by your
hospitality. WE feel like you are old friends.

Cornucopia is everything we had hoped it would be,
very comfortable, tastefully decorated, a fabulous
breakfast and above all, both of you are gracious,
wonderful hosts.
Since our main reason for being here was to attend
Grandparents day at Taft, your location and
proximity to the school is excellent.
It is a great pleasure and an honor to meet both
of you!

rooms were beautifully decorated, the food was
delicious, and Christine and Ed made us feel at
home! And...it was just a short trip from NYC. We

Rebecca, Steve, and Hannah Wilks
New York City, NY USA - Wednesday, December 01,
2004 We had a wonderful time at the Cornucopia at
Oldfield. The room was beautifully decorated with
lots of light coming in from the windows and the
fireplace made it feel so cozy and warm. The bed
was as if you were sleeping on clouds. I sat out
on the private balcony one day watching my son and
my husband playing in the falling leaves and just
enjoying the wonderful view. The food was
delicious every morning, and I especially loved
having fresh fruit each morning with my breakfast.
The keeping room has a big fireplace and we looked
forward to sitting by the fire with a cup of hot
tea. The innkeepers are warm and welcoming. They
made us feel like part of the family. They were so
accommodating to our needs and wants. They gave us
great information about what to do and where to
eat. We also took a drive around the area and
stopped by a Christmas Tree farm that was just
down the street. Our visit to Southbury was one of
the best vacations we have ever had and we will be
returning again next year.
