Bob was born in Ventnor, New Jersey where he received his education before joining the army in the anti-aircraft artillery division, a new area requiring precise and detailed calculations. He served in Hawaii (and was there when Pearl Harbor was attacked) as well as many other islands of the South Pacific. He returned to the states where he became a successful life insurance agent in New York, Connecticut and Florida. During all those years his artistic efforts were focused on photography and model shipbuilding. Much of the detail that shows up in his paintings could also be seen in these early artistic endeavors.
Bob has also been fortunate to
travel extensively, especially in the last 20 years with his wife Beverly. In all those travels he has been a keen observer
of color and shape, something that he has worked hard to capture in his paintings.
